Microbrewers and a bank holiday make a great combination in Pembrokeshire

Pembrokeshire Tourism - Saturday, April 29, 2017
In recent years there has been a revival of the craft beer movement and throughout Wales the number of microbreweries is on the rise. In Pembrokeshire we have some of the nation’s finest microbreweries who, as the name suggests, produce beer on a smaller scale than other brewers but this is the key to their greatness.
Started by real ale enthusiasts with an eye for quality, a passion for the process and a desire to share their love of a good pint, these breweries are making a name for themselves beyond our wonderful county and are reaching a whole new market. From more established microbreweries to exciting new start-ups, Pembrokeshire has a lot to offer - here are our favorites from the North, mid and South of the county who are all putting a hop into the step of beer-lovers everywhere!

(North) - Bluestone Brewing Co
Just 3 miles inland from Newport in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park you’ll find Bluestone Brewery. Named after the famous stone that filters the natural mountain spring water they use for their beer, this family-run brewery lovingly crafts its range of bold and delicious Rock Solid Ales. Go there on a Brew Day and you can even get stuck in with helping to brew a batch of beer!

(Mid) - Caffle Brewery
Set in an old schoolhouse near the town of Narberth, Caffle Brewery craft excellent real ales for all palates. Carefully chosen hops and an expanding local hop growing project mean top quality, great tasting beer. As well as their range of year-round and seasonal beers, these creative folk also concoct fantastic custom brews for special occasions. So if you’ve got a big event coming up and you want to make an impression, Caffle Brewery is the place to go!

(South) - Tenby Harbwr Brewery Located In an historic warehouse above the harbour, Tenby Harbwr Brewery is a terrific place to enjoy the brewery experience. Once you’ve had a chance to see how their beers are brewed you can go upstairs to the stylish tap room and sample the wares for yourself! Whether you just want to treat yourself to a taste of their delicious ales or fancy trying them alongside some great food, Tenby Harbour Brewery is a great place to visit. With the growing interest in real ale, Pembrokeshire’s microbreweries are seeing their products stocked by an increasing number of hotels, pubs and restaurants across the county and beyond. Most products are also available on site and online so there’s plenty of opportunity for everyone to get a taste of what’s on offer.
If you’re looking for a flavour-packed pint, crafted with love and care by artisan brewers, Pembrokeshire’s microbreweries are the place to start!
